If you do choose to wash and reuse the filter be sure not to squeeze or wring it dry to avoid tearing the filter.

The humidifier should be reassembled just as easily as it was taken apart. Just remember where everything was taken from and put the parts back in place. But before that, take this opportunity to clean the base with a cup of white vinegar. Allow the vinegar to sit for 20 minutes before rinsing with the bleach water from the water tank. Ensure that everything is rinsed clean of all chemicals.
