OK, your blood pressure is through the roof (HBP) or you have hypertension (HPT). Is it really that bad? Yes, both HBP and HPT will in time cause serious damage to your blood vessels. In regards to the exercise, the most important thing is to get off your butt. You need to focus on aerobic (with air) activities. These include vigorous walking, jogging, swimming, hiking or even mowing the lawn. Basically any movement that causes you to breathe hard and break a sweat. You do not have to go out and run a marathon either. Start out slow and build your way up to higher levels of activity. You really want to get to where you can go for 3o minutes a day, 3 to 4 days. Make sure that you stretch prior and after your workout to avoid muscle injury and soreness too.
