Everyone knows that little girls are made from sugar and spice and everything nice. Sugar and spice is not expensive and neither is decorating your little girls’ room. If you are on a budget you can still give her a new look for her room that is full of character and comfort.
The walls will be the first thing you can start with. You want to give her walls a new color so choose a pastel color like lilac. You can buy the peel and stick Disney princess character decals and appliques that can accent the walls. Place them around the light switches or any bedroom furniture. You can always reuse them somewhere else.
She probably has a collection of stuffed animals that you can display on shelves. If shelves are too expensive you can purchase a pet net that hooks on the corners of the walls.
To give her a new look on lighting you can replace the lampshade in her room. You can find a stylish lampshade that she will love at any bargain store. You may want to give her a pink light bulb for her lamp.
For her floors, you will find tones of beautiful area rugs online. These come in various designs, colors and patterns. A heart or flower shaped area rug on her floor would be a great addition for your low budget decor. This shouldn’t cost you a fortune either.
Change is good but you don’t need to get rid of all her old stuff. Take her bedspread and add lace around the edges. Pile her bed full of throw pillows for added comfort as well as style. Don’t just get a square pillow, opt for different shapes, colors, and sizes.
For her window treatments, you could opt for heavy cotton panels and drapes. Sheer panels of alternating colors would look good in a little girl’s room. For instance, you might opt for pastel colored sheer panels for the outer edges of her windows. Then use sheer white or creamy ivory for the center. On the tops of the windows, use pretty interlocking looped waterfall valences or scarf valences. These should not cost you too much and you may even do them up yourself if you have an eye for design.
